The site was started after I went through all of the wedding planning process myself.
I was living in Athens and trying to plan a wedding in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Needless to say, it was a difficult task. I would work all day, then come home and try to make contacts in St. Clairsville, most of the time well after 5pm when businesses were closed. If I was lucky, a family member might track down some information for me, but even that didn’t always work. Imagine trying to have someone describe the decor and arrangement of a reception hall over the phone. I kept thinking, “Why don’t they have a web site with pictures, prices, dates”.
So, fast forward a couple of years and here we are. AthensWeddings.com is the wedding portal I could have used to plan my own wedding.
